Maybe a preemptive move by Virgin but I got an email yesterday offering double status credits for flights booked over the next 2 weeks for travel until end Jan. May also be a 'sorry for offering QF refugees cheaper fares than you' gesture as I've seen those sour grapes come up a few times in social media. Virgin basically does everything right these days.
