Amsterdam remains challenging however I am excited about Andaz coming
the newer Hyatt boutique brand ^It won't be long now
The Pulitzer a Starwood property is one fair choice not a great value
The Crowne Plaza in city center is also a fair choice
My preferred property though not cheap and the rooms are small is The
Renaissance a Marriott brand.
It does breakfast very well and has reasonably professional service
If money is not an object nor a rewarding guest program the Sofitel Grand is one of my favorites in the world and located in the Red Light district.
Other highly satisfactory choices
The Swissotel
Radisson
If location isn't a big deal and you like classic old world
The InterContinental is
abusurdly priced and IMO in need of a renovation. The bathrooms are excellent
However it is still world class and a great deal on points or a BOGO
At the end of the day all of the above hotels do not have abusive management towards their guests in anyway as does the Amsterdam Hilton who is only interested in its self serving policies of ignoring customer loyalty and letting guests pay full cost for whatever they want.
It's a shame as the property has amazing potential.Regretfully the management is in serious denial and will not open up any channels of discussion. They continue to bring in guests with the Hilton name so they have little reason to be hospitable or generous with upgrading
