And yes there is a steam room (scented with eucalyptus ).Though I prefer Russian banya style, specifically having a twink/bear beat me with birch leaves, soaked in hot water, later scrubbed with a lofah. Alas, for that, a trip to Moscow may be necessary.

The Equinox west village and the time warner center is also a celeb workout place. I've seen [ Alex Saargard, the vampire from True Blood, Jude Law, among others in the mens locker room] .I quit my membership (aside from the rising $$$ price), the pool downstairs was constantly being occupied by people training for a swim meet. I just wanted to do laps. The crowding annoyed me.

I ended up using my membership primarily as a coat check in various places in Manhattan and a place to shower. I belong to a less fabulous, but more practical gym now (that I actually use)
