The Sheraton had the better cozy beach and snorkling at Black Rock, lovely if you get a balcony overlooking it. But it is a huge spread out place with lots of different kinds of rooms. The restuarants are not as good as Westin Kaanapali and it is not as lively.
For clarification, Westin Maui is the name of the hotel on Ka'anapali Beach near Whaler's Village. Sheraton Maui (formerly Sheraton Black Rock) is the name of another hotel on Ka'anapali Beach. Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas (WKORV) is the name of the timeshare/hotel community north of resort row.
