The Victoria Hotel (ParkPlaza) is defintely conviently located with the city centre at your doorstep. But the rooms lack some renovation. Especially the rooms in the old buliding can be pretty dark and small. We accommondated some of our buisness visitors there but after a few complaints we drop it from our list.
In the vicinity there is the NH-Hotel Barbizon which we are using quite often.

There are quite a lot of small non-frills Hotels in the city. Best is to check one of the hotel-review-websites like tripadvisor.com to get an idea.
