But QF contracts lounge access out to a number of airlines; Jetconnect, BA, CX, FJ and the like are all still flying. My understanding is that QF are only locking out those workers whose employment agreements are being disputed, which to my knowledge doesn't include ground staff.
This is academic now, but the TWU covers ground staff also. Baggage handling, check in and catering staff are covered by the TWU which is one of the unions in dispute with Qantas. I don't know how it affects the lounge, though as the actual staff doing the service inside the lounge are employed by Sofitel, so wouldn't be part of the TWU, but if the people who man the front desk are TWU, then that could have been a problem.
