I appreciate the thoughtful responses, although not the snarky, patronizing replies.

I have miles on BA because I've been flying for years on BA, primarily European short hauls. I don't know what "do more research" or "don't get your head turned" is supposed to mean. But I am remembering why I stopped looking at FlyerTalk. It's like a troll fest in some of these threads.
