I was always under the impression that even if you didn't want to pay for directv, there was free content. Apparently not.
When I walked through the cabin, I would say less than 10% of the passengers were watching anything. My hunch is that if there was free content, more than that would be watching something.
I'm not saying it's a good value, even when DirecTV is working, and it's not surprising that so few people were watching.
As far as the on-board content, if the system is working properly, there should definitely be movies available. Are you saying that those movies were not available? If so, that would imply the entire system was down.
