My point is that there was no "on-board content." I would think that it's not a good idea to get directv since once you go over water, there's no directv available. But I asked the flight attendent isn't there anything free? And he said, "Water, coffee and soda, that's it."
I was always under the impression that even if you didn't want to pay for directv, there was free content. Apparently not.
When I walked through the cabin, I would say less than 10% of the passengers were watching anything. My hunch is that if there was free content, more than that would be watching something.
