I still use my 22" roller as a carry on, it probably wouldn't fit in those sizers (and the outside pocket bulges) but fortunately have never been asked to put it in the sizer and have never had a problem fitting it in the overhead been on any regular plane. As yours has some "give", I wouldn't anticipate any problem fitting it in.
