MBJ to ATL to SLC Connection time is 1 hr and 23 min
I'm a novice international traveler so I totally didn't account for customs, immigration, and I had no idea until reading on here today that I have to go through the TSA security lines again in ATL.
Everything I read on-line says a legal connection international to domestic through ATL is 1 hr and 30 minutes. There is plenty of space on a later ATL to SLC flight but Delta won't move me unless I pay the $150 change fee. If I'm going to do that I would just stay and extra day in MBJ. To top it off my flight is the Sunday after Thanksgiving...Delta says the minumum legal connection flights do not adjust for peak travel days in the system.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Secondary security after the ATL "bag-drop" is the only scary part in terms of potential time killer. Immigration and customs generally seem well staffed for the current loads IMO.
