Bei 49 Prozent wurde nach Ministeriumsangaben ein "unnötiger Alarm" etwa wegen Falten oder Schweißflecken in der Kleidung ausgelöst, und zusätzlich bei fünf Prozent ein "echter Fehlalarm". Ob nun "unnötig" oder "echt", in mehr als der Hälfte der Fälle hat die Technik versagt.
According to the ministry, 49 percent had an 'unnecessary alarm' due to pleats or sweat, while an additional five percent had a 'real' false alarm. In more than half the cases (whether 'unnecessary' or 'real') the technology failed. Keep in mind that this is the same L3 MMW in use in many US airports, where we have not seen reported rates of failure or alarm.
Somehow I think that there is an even slimmer chance this week of these being put into use in the near future.
