OT: In Washington DC

Finally made it and in the process of writing up a trip report. Lovely CW experience.

For anyone deciding to pop over to see the tourist sites,

The Washington Monument is closed apparently due to earthquake damage.
Nevertheless, I managed to buy tickets online from the official US Gov site to go up it after the earthquake yet wasn't informed it was closed. The barriers and signs near it gave that away when I went to see it last night.

The Reflecting Pool in front of the Lincoln Memorial. No pool and no chance of anything reflecting. It's been dug up and now is a muddy building site with random piping.

The White House can still be seen front and back though and the Lincoln Memorial can be walked up to. Had a lovely run up the steps at 6:15am and was totally by myself for a while until another runner decided to do the same thing.
