I have had this for 2 decades (gee, I'm old!) and it's still going strong. It's a small travel hotplate and teflon-coated aluminum pot with heat resistant plastic lid. The plug is standard American/Japanese 2 prong and there is a dual voltage switch on the bottom of the hotplate. I bring this instead of a travel kettle when I need to truly boil the water before consumption or when I might need to cook/reheat something.

I also have most immersion heaters also do the job but be careful of accidentally breaking them by kicking in the safety by pulling the coil out of the water before unplugging. I found that the safety trips more easily over prolonged heating and that once it trips, it's permanent and the immersion coil can't be used anymore.
