CA Y would have been pretty much the same. The FAs are better (at least they won't be outright rude like some on UA) but the food is still pretty terrible. Actually, I haven't been able to finish some of the meals I've been served in CA Y, and I pretty much always finish meals I'm served on a plane. You should have taken CA to NRT and UA to ORD from there; UA's NRT-based crew are always fantastic.
