There has been some theory that the LMU price is based on original fare purchased.
Original fare from Tango group, LMU $XXX
Original fare Tango Plus, LMU would be less than above
Total of LMU and original fare, would be close to latitude.
I've found aeroplan tickets are offered LMU at roughly the Tango Plus rates.
