Greetings, I am moving back to Houston the first part of 2012 and decided it would make more sense to fly UA instead of DL. Today, I got confirmation that I have been matched over to 1K from DL Diamond (well, I'll take the challenge).

I am trying to book a trip over to HKG in December. I can find the flights I want on CO.com but my status is on UA so I can't select the "good" seats. I have linked my OP and MP accounts, but status has not shown up on CO.com yet. I assume I can book on CO.com then take the PNR over to UA.com and pick my seats and replace my OP# with my MP#. Will that work and are there any negative ramifications if I do it this way?

Before I moved to Atlanta, I lived in Houston and was PLT with CO for a few years, so I used to be familiar with their program. However, since I have lived on DL for a while, and then add in the merger, I need to relearn all of the ins and outs. I have started reading through some of the threads on the UA forum, but there is a whole lot to take in at one time.
