I'm returning to FT after several years and hoping you may be able to help me out.
I booked a ticket DTW-LAX in the summer. In September, I was informed of a "schedule change," aka Delta had canceled my 9.30 am flight from LAX to DTW and put me on the next (11.30 am) flight. As I'll be flying in from overseas at 6 am, I can't realistically make the 7 am (or thereabouts flight) and will therefore be hanging out in LAX for 5+ hours. I emailed Customer Service and asked for a 1-day Skyclub pass given that they had changed the flight by 2 hours and will now be in the airport for a really long time. They fed me crap lines about dedication to customer service and then said "nope, we don't do that." I've now gone back and forth with them about this and just get robotic answers about dedication to customer service without any actual customer service.
So with apologies to those of you who will think I'm diluting the Skyclub

, is there any way to get them to budge? Were I not a poor graduate student, I'd probably just buy a pass and were I not coming in from Auckland early that morning, it wouldn't really matter. But I'd really like a comfy chair for these extra hours of waiting. Am I just going to have to suck this up? Any advice is appreciated.
