However, none of the flights I want currently have the availability at the low level which existed when I originally booked. Thus, I can't cancel and simply re-book from scratch. I suspect many people are in the same boat given Delta's award availability track record. Also, canceling does not necessarily mean that your seats will automatically go back into the pool of available seat. The only hope for those of us in that situation is an actual reissue of the previous ticket.
