Miles management is very similar to money management.

There is no "one correct" answer.

Some people like a safe guaranteed return,
Some people don't care and don't have a plan
Some have so much money that you can't understand their world

I too am a hold at PM and get close to DM as possible person. With my remaining travel I will rollover 49,300 miles

Some years my travel would be around 110k MQM's other years only 40k MQM's.

Rollover has helped me to maintain PM in lean years, bank a significant amount in others, and when things are exceptional move some of my travel to AA

PM works for me - not for others. There was an interesting thread recently on where the sweet spot is for value. You can find a person who makes a strong case for FO, GM, PM, and DM

I get the UG about 70% out of DTW, Can gift FO to my wife, and can be a "gamer" with Award travel . Have Skyclub Access via AMEX. PM Works for my flying patterns MBJ, LAX LGA, MSY, MCO, LAS,.

Could I do better as a DM -- of course, but the GM years would be bad and a year at FO would really suck after my time as a PM.
