I'm an SPG Platinum and really hated my experience here for 5 reasons:
1. had a $25 award cert. (SPG award) and presented it upon check-in. Front desk person said she's never seen it in her life and her attitude was really bad. Said she didn't think they would take it.
2. Bathtub drain didn't drain (biggest pet peeve). Called maintenance and they said it was fixed but it wasn't.
3. Smoke smell in the room despite the entire hotel being smoke free? Had to crank up the AC full blast to get air circulating.
4. They don't replace bathroom shampoo here. With two people sharing a room and sharing one shampoo bottle for an entire weekend we found ourselves putting water in the shampoo bottle in order to squeeze every last ounce of shampoo out of it. I was later told it was a cost saving measure. Really - if you're saving money replace the double headed shower head with something that conserved more water or don't replace the lotion or conditioner...but the shampoo?
5. Was promised 5000 SPG points as a service adjustment and to ease my pain - but only got 2500...thanks for skimping out on the service promise as well.
I'd rather stay at the W across the way next time...so just a heads up in case you're going through a similar debate. It's not worth the headache here.
Call corporate customer service for the additional 2,500 points. That's pretty bad.
