Just got back from a trip and was in Athens from 10/16-10/18. Stayed at the Marriott but had drinks at the GB on the evening of 10/17. Lots of (riot) police gearing up for demonstrations due to take place the following days, but felt very safe during my time there. I had heard that the steps of the GB were broken and used as projectiles. Probably doesn't help much since my experience was the days prior to the demonstrations.
