SARS forces Singapore Airlines to cut back flights
Singapore Airlines says its cutting back on a number of flights to all of its destinations because of the SARS virus.
The airline says it has seen a dramatic downturn on all of its services, with north and South-East Asia the most severely affected.
A spokesman for the company, Stephen Forshaw says it is an enormous challenge for the airline to contain costs without taking drastic measures.
Mr Forshaw says the latest cuts are a temporary arrangement.
"But the reductions we're seeing across Australia will see Sydney flights reduced from three a day to two a day, Melbourne will lose about three flights a week with some other ad hoc changes as required Perth will lose six flights a week, Brisbane will lose two flights a week and some ad hocs as well, Adelaide flights remain unchanged," he said.</font>

Latitudes.
For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move; to feel the needs and hitches of our life more nearly; to come down off this feather-bed of civilisation, and find the globe granite underfoot and strewn with cutting flints.
Robert Louis Stevenson (1850–1894)
