Using my *A miles to get from LON to Brazil (possible stop on the way)

Hi all,

This is my first post here so apologies if it's been asked or is in the wrong format. I'm looking for tips but searching through this forum can be bewildering for a beginner .

I'm signed up to BMI's Diamond Club (via a credit card offer, I don't fly enough to be a 'true' frequent flyer) and I believe I can use the miles I've built up on BMI's Star Alliance partners.

I have enough miles where I can a return flight to anywhere in Brazil for £170 plus taxes.

My final destination would be BSB (Brasilia) but I'm wondering if it'd be possible to stop off at GRU (Sao Paulo) for a couple of days on the way, on the same ticket. When I spoke to someone at BMI Diamond Club, they seemed to suggest this was possible

I've seen links to various flight itinerary sites on here... would any of them show me the availability of such a route, and whether there are seats left for people flying with miles? (Apologies if that is a really obvious question, but it would save me hours of sitting on the phone with the agent, trying permutations).

Ideally I'd fly on TAM direct from London to Sao Paulo, but flying indirect may be more likely. I'm looking at flying in December/January/February; I suspect the later will be better in terms of availability (well, up to carnaval naturally)

any tips of where I should start looking on this site would be greatly appreciated!
