True. But the US domestic benefits of UA 1K are worth more to me than the much higher point accruals on LH, at least as long as UA are around:
-earn 2 HK49s (upgrade ANY Y fare to domestic F) for every 10000 miles on UA metal while flying on any fare (v. 1 LH UPG for every 50000 earned miles), plus the 500 mile domestic upg's earned;
-6 SWU's annually - upg paid biz (even D) to F or paid H/B/Y to C on UA or LH metal

Again, if these benefits are cut and or UA folds, my analysis changes radically in favor of LH...
