Khaosan Rd area is dry, but businesses are putting up sandbags. Some are even building cement enclosures about 3-4 ft high, in front of the entrance to their shops, with a 'lip' area to step across, that I assume would be eventually reinforced with sandbags.
Sukhumvit is still dry and malls are very busy. Traffic is not impossible today. That's always good. I was at Platinum Mall (near to Pantip) and it is dry over there as well.
The canal that runs behind Platinum and Pantip (and it also runs beside the Jim Thompson house) looks a bit high. I saw a canal taxi and it was really kicking up the water on both sides!
Still one day at a time. I'm planning to stay here until Halloween.
Many thanks
sim510 for the multiple daily updates. Really appreciate it as I am getting jittery about an upcoming trip to BKK this weekend... Staying in Sukhumvit 15 area
