indeed it is a long weekend... I was traveling with a Thai local... they said it was particularly quiet, even with the long weekend. but maybe the traffic will pick up tomorrow evening.

the lack of water is a concern... even in pattaya it is sold out. the problem seems to be some of the supply routes into Bangkok... 7/11s have posted notices on their chiller cabinets explaining this is the reason for many out of stocks.

the problem with boiling water is that they cannot guarantee the water is not going to get polluted from the floods. already today the water smells particularly bad so boiling may not be the answer.

I would check closer to the time with those still on the ground here... but the weather is hot, and without sufficient bottled water I would likely cancel, or pack bottled water in luggage... (even though very heavy). we had to bring bottled water with us from pattaya today...
