Hmmm... I seem to have forgotten maintaining status. While achieving Gold status will be marginally more difficult (1500 points versus 1200), maintaining it will be quite a greater challenge (1500 points versus 800). Now I am having second thoughts to be honest... as great as T5 has become, it still adds on average 3-6 hours to my journey plus the inevitable hassle (which becomes a nightmare if a snowflake falls in Scotland).
