Looks like it cleared in response to my telephone call - why cant they jsut clear them without ringing?

Anyway, a follow up question:

If I request an uprade to PE on the return leg, and do not like the seat (eg I only like aisle seats) can i turn it down - and how hard will that be to do when checking in with AirCanada
