If you only contracted with UA to get you to HKG and then were upset that they wouldn't get you to REP to replace a ticket that you bought from someone else I'm not really sure you have much of a leg to stand on. That's the risk you take with multiple itineraries. Had you purchased ORD-ICN-REP originally my guess is they would have done a much better job of getting you to REP.
