I'm guessing you meant to type VS (Virgin Atlantic) for your TATL flight from LHR-JFK? There is no VA.
If you looked at the LHR website for connections from T1>T3 you'd find this page http://tinyurl.com/2lgbhq . The MCT (Minimum Connecting Time) is 75 mins. Are you travelling on one PNR or two? And are you checking any bag(s)?
If separate PNRs you need to allow extra time as VS will not be responsible for your late arrival if your inbound BD flight is delayed.
