Honestly, look at the rules for the club. They have the right to change rules without ever telling members. They have the right to give you no notice that they are going to revoke your membership, and they owe you no explanation if they do revoke it.
Which is all fine and good; if those are the T&C when you buy something and you agree without reading, it's your mistake, and if you read and agree to the T&C then you at least know where you stand. But there is a right way to terminate a "lifetime" membership, and having an agent do it at a club is not it.
