President's Choice points can be used for travel

First, my apologies to those who think this is off topic, but it is a Cdn. subject so I thought I'd post it here.

That being said, I was in my local Loblaws on the week-end and saw a large sign at the "bank" section indicating that PC points can now be used for travel - apparently PC have a deal with Thomas Cook that allows point redemption. The rate is 25000 points =$25. I don't bank with PC so I'm not sure how easy it is to earn points - I believe its 10 points for each dollar spent on the credit card + various points for other banking transactions.

While this doesn't seem like a great rate (essentially 1%), I found it interesting that they were promoting the program as one with "no black-outs, no restrictions on redemptions" - I'm sure they are trying to tap in to the frustrations most people have as it becomes increasingly difficult (if not impossible) to obtain AP rewards.
