Good to know, Air Lanka I think was the initial name and they do currently fly to London. I think their cabin crew was trained initally by Singapore Airlines.

The airline is also keen to join an alliance with Oneworld or Star Alliance as preferred "as soon as practicable". The airline plans to open direct flights to Toronto, Canada with a stopover at London-Heathrow from October 2011(quoted from Wikipedia)
