I applied for the card yesterday with the link given.
I was only approved for the Platinum card (with the lowest credit limit I have ever been given on a CC, FWIW). I called to ask about why I was given the other card and they didn't seem to get why I was bothered that I applied for one thing and was given another. But the lady was nice and answered my questions.
However, when I went over the details of the differences between the cards it seems the only difference is the Platinum does not have Zone 2 boarding and FC check-in. The Platinum does have 40,000 miles with first use, no fee for first year and US Club day pass annually (for me the 3 most important things) among other perks. I think this is a new change, as the first post on this thread says the Platinum only has 10,000 miles (the fine print on the link does say the Platinum gives 40,000).
I do not plan on keeping this card long and don't fly US much, so the Zone 2 and FC check-in doesn't matter much to me. But I really don't like the bait and switch of giving you a different card then you applied for (yes I know in the fine print it says they can do this). Barclay's did this to me when I applied for a LH card, but they switched me to a card that give far few miles.
