Issue is not a different routing as granted per AA. Nowhere in my email did I ask for that (I asked for an advance seat selection on IB); I simply stated that was something I could have done had I known about this new policy.
The issue is that going forward all AA codeshare bookings on IB will encounter the inability to book advance seat assignments despite the claimed benefits of an JV/ATI policy proclaiming a seamless travel experience as if AA/BA/IB were operated as one airline.
Now if AA doesn't realize this is an issue, then they may never take action to resolve it.
They addressed the issue in the letter by clarifying that they do not get to make IB's policies for them and that there's nothing that they can do
You didn't state it is something you could do , but something you would have done
"Had I known of this new policy, I would not have booked IB MAD to JFK, but
would have flown a different way such as MAD to LHR to JFK."
and they offered to allow change to an AA flight for no penalty
What more could they do?
