Pretty much all winter tyres wear faster than their summer/all-season counterparts, especially if it doesn't snow very much. (oh, the irony)

I used to drive with a set of Hakkas (the real hardcore ones with studs) and I agree they're great. I most recently tried a set of Gislaveds (Swedish) and thought they were even better. Nordic people know their winter tyres! Fortunately I don't need to own a car anymore living in HKG.
