Single practitioner offices are pretty much a thing of the past. You are more or less forced to use a 'clinic' and hope that you find one or more of the incumbents to your liking. The upside is that there is almost always someone who will see you (eventually) as a 'walk-in'.
My old GP in Calgary closed his practice and banded together with a few other GPs to make their own clinic, so I can definitely agree that this is the future! (unfortunately)
