This is assuming that IHG is going to honor their side of the bargain and reimburse me for my stay. So far have sent off 3 e-mails on 3 consecutive days and have yet to get a single reply.

But my point is that if its going to be a non-qualifying night which is complimentary, yes by all means, do away with the points.

But this situation smacks of bad faith in that the hotel has initially denied you the rate adjustment and then goes around and denies you the points claiming that it would be a non-qualifying night since it would be reimbursed and then IHG doesn't do anything to attempt to reply to your queries regarding reimbursement when they could have just adjusted the rate in the first place rather then place hurdles all in the way of the customer in order to apparently at this point in time not honour their promise.

Will update IF I do happen to get the reimbursement. There is really no real indication so far that this is going to happen as far as I am concerned.

20 cases of this happening? I doubt it, there should be much much more out there. It has already happened to me twice and to friend I know of, once and there are another 3 cases on record in this forum, to make up 6 cases in total. After what happened to me, my friend cancelled her reservation and booked the Four Seasons instead.
