I just booked SAN LAX SVG. Called the AA Executive Platinum desk and the rep told me the outbound day with upgrade availability. 25,000 miles plus $350. Great service and waitlisted on return for upgrade via Chicago so about 14,000...one great week in Shanghai flying in a 777. Nice...
