Thanks for everyone's comments, I appreciate it! The scenary along the Zion Narrows hike was absolutely breathtaking, and I would recommend it to anyone who's even remotely interested in backpacking. It's also great because it can be done in just 2 days by most people.

@chollie, the way around the falls didn't look natural (looks like they might have had to blast through some rock), so I assumed it was man-made... though I'm not sure when it was done. Otherwise, it looked to me like the only way to get past is to take the 20' plunge down the waterfall! How did you get through that portion?! Also, if you're interested, I have another trip report about Vietnam on FT as well... I have to warn you though, it's very long and wordy!
