i don't know abouts the points xfer, but while you are waiting, go to both sites & check the award availability....

note that both offer 1 way awards, so you could go out w/1 & back w/the other...aa allows you to hold an award, perhaps ua also....

so you need some info on the time it takes to do the xfer.....

also, if you have date flexability, that can help and going mid week may also help, because the std is out sat & back sun a week or 2 later....
