Hello,

I want to book a couple of seats to go to Maui in Feb 2012. Looking at United and AA, the AA works out at 35K miles vs. United at 40K.

I have SPG points that I was going to utilize and that also makes AA a better deal due to 1:1 transfer vs. 2:1 on United.

I am concerned though about AA...I see they list "Bonus" miles. Are the SPG points to be xferred to AA convert into unusable AA miles??

We have no status at AA..infact, I just signed up on their site for an AA Advantage membership.
