+1, I completely agree with irishguy28. This being said, in terms of redemption, TLV pays a 'double bill' with increase in miles needed plus the 'per segment' new calculation. This will make awards very expensive. All we can say is, like the rest of us, just give some clean thought as to whether BA/EC is the best airline for you or not. It may well be that you decide that it still is, in which case you'll just have to bite the bullet as they won't bulge since they have made it extremely clear that broadly speaking European (including Israeli) customers are not their priority. Alternatively, depending on your personal needs, you may well find that you'd be better off switching to Flying Blue (AF, KL, Skyteam) or Miles and More (LH, LX, OS, Star Alliance). KL, LH, LX all fly long haul planes to/from TLV (in fact all fly planes that are significantly more pleasant than the 767), both LH-LX-OS and AF-KL-AZ have more flights to/from TLV (and arguably better timings) than BA, and both will offer a large proportion of cheaper awards.
