But when BD was operating LHR-GLA it provided up to seven flights a day so BD's withdrawal was a significant loss of capacity.

In the case of LHR-EDI, BD is cutting just two flights a day so it's unlikely BA will operate additional flights (for LHR-EDI). Of course, the situation might change in 2012 when leisure travel picks up. Who knows ?
