The 76.6. is only for the destinations where not all flights are operated with P. You'd have to add those destinations where all flights have P class (JNB, NRT, HKG, PEK, etc). I haven't done the maths, but let's say it's 140 pax capacity per day.
But then the interesting question is what is the occupancy rate of P? And I don't mean number of bums on seats once the doors are closed but people who have paid for their ticket with money or miles and who use the Premiere lounge?
Let's assume occupancy of 40% of P with paid/award tickets. That's around 60 pax.
Plus those that come in in P class and transfer to another non-P flight (e.g. onward to European destination). Add another 30 pax.
So veeeeeery approximately the Premiere lounge facility is for around 80-100 pax per day.
Wouldn't it be worthwhile to open it to some frequent flyers? For instance, create a separate card called "Premiere lounge" which is given to all Platinums for life (shameless egoism
) plus those who have earned more than 250k miles per year?
I think Lufthansa was smart to open its FCT/FCL also to HON Circle card holders.
