As for hotel choice in that arae i would choose the Grand Mercure in Soi 6 which is accessible into Soi 8 for early evening drinks.
I posted this hotel a while ago and still think its a little gem. http://www.goldentulipmandison.com/
I also think the Ramada in Soi 18 has a very good pool setting, which many of the hotels in this price bracket do not. http://www.ramada.com/Ramada/control...opertyId=32678
Good ideas ! Golden Tulip looks fantastic at it's opening price of 1800B or so. The Ramada's on Soi 12 & it's the Grand Sukhumvit on 6 not Mercure (it used to be the Sofitel). Go with the Ramada. The GS is OK, but worth closer to 2000 not 3000 IMO. For 3K (ai) the Grande Millenium is a deal. wj
