Thanks to all for the quick and useful replies! Much appreciated.

I am indeed on one ticket and have lounge access. Even with a decent T5-T5 connection, ordinarily I'd simply err on the side of relaxing in the lounge with a longer connection. But if I take the earlier flight I'll get home in time to catch most of a sports event I want to see.
