I don't at all doubt that they have good massage therapists, and would certainly try a massage if I were to stay. I would however not choose this spa for other types of treatment. La Prairie, although expensive, is a pedestrian brand for a high end spa to be using, and the products are far from natural. I also do not think it is a good sign for a spa to be serving Champagne, as it is not a good idea to consume alcohol before or immediately after massages. Herbal teas or water would be much better to help the body relax and to detoxify after a massage.
The hotel spa I have the most experience with in New York is the Four Seasons', and I have had outstanding massages there. Also, for quite
some time they have been offering Dr. Hauschka treatments which are excellent as the products are effective and entirely natural.

Thank you for all the great advice! After much thought, I've decided on RCCP. Managed to get a guaranteed upgrade at time of booking to a Central Park Deluxe Room through Virtuoso, a guaranteed late checkout for 4pm as well as the $75 rollaway bed fee waived. Also opted for the club lounge option.
My only other experience thus far with RC has been at their Grand Cayman property, where we also had club lounge access, and enjoyed it immensely! Will report back on how this stay will fare.

The spa there isn't what a " top " spa really is though , what with champagne & the choice of ' product ' but the therapists should still be ok.
