Looks like AF is giving up the premium market to BA and LHLX. And EK of course. We will see in the next few years if that was a good idea.
They will reduce P at the rhythm of retrofits of 777s. Now that they have starting using a 773 config COI (14 J seats or 2 rows) on non-COI destinations, one wonder if this is an indication of the future.
The last strike will be when they remove P from A380. But having so many premium seats on a A380 makes little sense for AF as they are "losing" a huge number of Y seats.
By the way, a recent press release by CX stated that premium cabins enjoyed growth, economy was stagnant and cargo slowing down. Some other airlines had a similar observation. But the crisis will hit. It remains to be seen whether business traffic will be more resistant than economy traffic in the coming months.
